I turned my desktop on today, only to find it had a nasty virus! It's so frustrating. Who spends their time concocting minuscule files to corrupt other peoples' computers, seriously? Do these hackers not have anything better to do with their lives? They're bacteria. Filthy bacteria. I wish I had a tub full of anti-bacterial goo to slosh on their heads and in their eyes. Blah. It's so annoying losing all of your files, repeatedly. I don't mind audio or video files, those can be restored somehow. It's my crappy poetry and pictures I'll miss the most.
Well, thankfully I bought a laptop a few hours before this mishap occurred. And the laptop is quite nice. I bought an Asus. It has a webcam, though I've yet to use it or attempt to. I'm sure it'll prove useful when I venture to using Skype. I thought I'd never like Vista. All these rumors of Vista being horrible, or unstable, or downright annoying, are a bit exaggerated. It's not that bad. Aesthetically, Vista is quite lovely and, functionally it's quite user friendly. So, if you're thinking about buying a new comp, and you've been dissuaded previously due to Vista rumors, don't worry, it's ok.
I've actually made a lot of purchases in the past two weeks, but the best one would have to be a plane ticket to Mexico on the 8th. Nate sold his drum set the other day and was excited. Shortly afterward he pitched the idea of going on a short vacation before leaving for Korea. Excellent idea. Originally we planned for Puerto Rico, but accommodations are high, so Mexico was our next best choice: cheap hostels, transportation, exchange rate, you name it - aside from the water. Remember - agua purificada, nothing else. We'll fly in Cancun on the 8th, stay a few days, visit Chichen Itza, tour Merida, then somehow, or hopefully, bus down to Belize. I'd really like to see as much as possible, providing it's not too expensive. I'm sure the trip will be relaxing and worth while. Plus, as soon as we return, we'll be departing for Korea about a week later.
