Christmas was nice. I woke up around 9:30 and headed to Aunt Angie's to meet the family. I had an urge to call some people on the way, so I called Brittany and Johnnie. I got Brittany's voicemail, but I kind of expected that, it was early in the morning. I left her a nice message. Johnnie answered and we talked for about twenty minutes. It's been such a long time since I've seen him. I can't believe Anthony and Marcus both have kids. But it's really not that surprising, we're getting older. Johnnie said he might take a road trip to Florida sometime soon, and if he does, I'll meet up with him in ATL or something. I hope he does.
The most surprising gift was from Mr. Lampos. Dad gave me my mail at Aunt Angie's, and enclosed in a package was some indoor soccer DVDs from 97'-99'. I was amazed. I watched them and smiled. It seems like forever ago. I kind of wish I was still that young soccer player. I'm happy I'm not, but I'd like to experience some of those days again.
Friday I went to Oasis with Nate, Marcus, and Mex. Oasis is such a fun place, for the first few hours at least. We stopped by Rusan's first and had some sushi. The typical house techno was playing overhead , but no anime on the screens. I drank 420 and Asahi, got a little buzz, and we left for the club. I fell asleep in the back, but it was much needed for the long night ahead.
We showed up at Oasis around 9:45 or so. We had good seats. The girl of my dreams was there again. I can never stop looking at her whenever I go. I know there's lots of men that say the same, but it's something about her eyes and her smile. Of course everything else is splendid, but I just like to see her face. Anyway, a girl I went to high school works there - Sheena. I recognized her and she recognized me. She ended up sitting in my lap way too long, but I guess it was ok, it warded off the other girls and spending money that way.
Gina and Melvin stopped by. They hung out for a few hours, but as the night winded down, Nate ended up leaving with them. I don't blame him, I was ready to leave too, but Marcus and Mex were drinking. I didn't mind though, I enjoyed spending the time with Marcus. I don't get to see him much, and I won't see him much for awhile. Mex and Marcus kept drinking - shots and beer. They both ended up pretty shitty. Marcus was asked to leave around 3:30, which was kind of expected. He was falling asleep here and there. I picked Nate up on the way home, dropped Marcus and Mex off at Marcus', then headed home.
Last night was fun. After work, Matt and I ate, had some beers, and watched Hancock. It's actually a good movie. I didn't expect much from it, but I found myself drawn to the plot. The twist was thoroughly interesting. And the movie was actually kind of sad. There was a song I recognized during the film, but I can't remember who it was by. It's a good song; I doubt I'll remember.
After the movie, several of us: me, Matt, Nate, Charles, and Phil rode to the square. We were all a little tipsy, and sporting blazers. We ended up at Alley Cat, but the band was cacophonic at best. I couldn't hear myself and swore my ears would be ringing the next day if I didn't step outside. There was a girl there I knew, or somewhat knew. I couldn't remember her name though. She cut her hair. It looked really cute. We ended up chatting outside for awhile. I got her number. Her name is Katie. I never ask for numbers. I'm a bit surprised actually.
